Hi
When will your Sound Tool become available?
I want to assess the absorbtion/transmission of various make-up options for facade panels and do not really know where to start. Can you point me to relevant literature? Can ECOTECT calculate the STC of a panel made up from say, 6mm glass+20mm air+80mm rockwool+12mm gypsum board?
Thanks and regards
Mario

Hi Mario,
I'm afraid we don't have a release date for the Sound Tool at the moment, and can't say we actually have much time in the near future to work on it unfortunately... although we'd love to get it done.
ECOTECT won't calculate the STC for you either... so not much help to you, sorry...

Thanks! Looking forwards to checking it out, sorry I haven't looked up the forum in quite a while. I'm building a rather big recording studio model and I would like to evaluate the acoustics of it. Right now I'm kind of split up in doing paralel modeling in Ecotect and Ulysses, and I have lots of unresolved issues. Imight as well ask some questions while I'm at it. When performing thermal analysis in Ecotect, how can I account for the acoustic elements (absorbers, diffusers, reflectors...) applied on the interior surfaces? I can hardly find any other data but absorption coefficients for standard acoustic elements. On the other hand, from the acoustic analysis point of view, I'm lacking data for rammed earth (diffusion and absorption coefficients). Any idea?
I'd like to exchange some thoughts with people using Ecotect's acoustic analysis features, so anyone interested can either directly contact me or discuss it in the forum. Thanks!
Milan
