Problems Installing the Patch File

QUESTION:

I have tried to run the patch I received when purchasing your software but it displays the following warning. I've tried continuing but the new application just won't run.

found in selected directory. This is an UPDATE 
PATCH which requires the original installation 
of the software, or trial version, to work 
properly.

Unless you intend to manually install the 
extracted files, you should click CANCEL below 
and choose the original installation directory.

ANSWER:

The only reason the patch will display this warning is if it cannot find an existing copy of the latest version of the software it is patching in the selected installation directory. It will even display this warning if you have an old version already there.

The patch only adds the ability to activate the software. For it to work properly you must first install the Trial version before the patch. The Trial install includes all the new DLLs and support files that the new software needs to run properly. You can obtain these install files from the Downloads page.
