gbXML / IFC patch

Has anyone heard anything about when the v5.51 patch that is supposed to include gbXML and/or IFC support is due to be released?

GBXML Import from Revit

comment posted by nash :: 9 August 2007 - 8:53pm

Is there any more recent developments on the gbxml import? Currently, when I go to import a gbxml file into Ecotect, the only option that I get is "parse file."

I have seen how this works with ArchiCAD and Ecotect 5.2, but have not seen it done with 5.5. Am I missing a step.

Any info would be appreciated.

Hello Nash,

This has become a hot topic...
Version 5.6 has the gbXML export/import.
Last I heard, due out in just a few weeks.

Best,
Olivier

Wasn't 5.6 on the scrap heap?

I thought they going to forget about 5.6 and just pack the gbXML and IFC support in with 6.0. Am I mistaken?

gbxml and quad geometry

Thanks for the info Oliver.

On a separate but related topic, do you know if there is any way to import quad (instead of triangulated) geometry into Ecotect? Typically, I would handle this using a wavefront .obj file, but the Ecotect the import still triangulates the mesh. Any ideas?
