overlap error produced through scripting

Description

I am creating geometry that should not be causing errors but is in fact producing errors. pasted below is a comment from a colleague, and I've attached the problematic script

thank you.

Ron,
It looks like those plates get built with their touching line on top of
each other. (see below) This shouldn't be an error at all, that's how it
should be otherwise you run the risk of having gaps. I think it's worth
a bug report to Square One.

Thanks for posting the detail on this issue.
The error that you get is an anomoly as a result of the method of determining overlap in ECOTECT (random test points over object surface) -- it is certainly not as a result of your script, and in fact can occur on rare occassions when modelling by hand.
Our suggestion to make sure this is not of concern to you when doing calculations is that if you check the geometry and, either through your scripting or via object snaps, are happy that there is no detectable overlap then it will be okay for any calculations. Certainly in the geometry created from your script this is the case, and the warning can be ignored.
We will be looking into alternate methods of determining overlap to avoid this incorrect error in the version 6 release of ECOTECT when we revist the modelling engine.
Thanks for taking the time to post this as an issue for us to work on!
